Preparation of Manuscripts

Manuscripts must be submitted in English. The text should be typed on one side of standard A4 paper, with double spacing and reasonably wide margins.

First page   The first page should contain, in the following order: (1) title of the paper, (2) full names of the author or authors, (3) name of the institution or affiliation, (4) postal address with phone and fax numbers, (5) email address, (6) a short list of keywords, and (7) a short running title.

Abstract   The paper should start with an abstract of approximately 150-300 words.

Sections
The paper should be divided into sections and these should be given section titles, not numbers. The paper should start with an Introduction and end with a Conclusions or a Discussion. Footnotes should be kept to an absolute minimum, while endnotes should be avoided.

References should be given in the text by putting in brackets the name(s) of the author(s) and the year of publication, e.g. (Watson and Crick, 1953). At the end of the paper, the references should be listed in alphabetical order and should conform to standard international practice.

Figures, tables, legends and footnotes should be submitted on separate sheets and numbered consecutively. Their approximate position in the paper should be indicated in the margin of the text. Artwork can be embedded, sent as separate graphic files, or sent via regular mail for hand insertion.

Proofs
Authors are requested to correct and return the proofs within 5 days of receipt. No new material should be included at the proof reading stage, but in special circumstances the editors may accept short additions with the label “Note added in proof”.

Reprints
May be ordered with the reprint-order-form that the author will receive together with the proofs.
